The Library of Santa Lucia Foundation has a collection of approximately 3,000 monographs, 270 international scientific periodical titles in paper collection and other works in more general scientific and popular journals. About 42,000 journals are available in electronic format, including direct acquisitions, holdings by the Bibliosan System and open access publications. In addition to texts and documents the collection includes audio and video holdings related to the history of regenerative medicine to the present day, presenting every aspect of clinical and social health aspects of neurorehabilitation.
Who Can Make Use of Library Services
Employees of Santa Lucia Foundation as well as students, graduate students, interns and trainees in training at the Foundation can take advantage of library services and personnel and external users can be granted access to resources, by contacting by phone or email the manager of the Library (see contacts published on this page).
Bibliographic Consultations in Paper Format
Publications in paper form are available only on site. At the Library you can partially reproduce by photocopying, according to the limits established by law for the protection of copyright. The cards for the use of copier can be purchased at the Library itself.
Library Holdings in Electronic Format
Onsite – for access to periodicals, databases and collections of ebooks, just connect to the online platform from anywhere internet connection at Santa Lucia Foundation, the recognition of the IP address is automatic. The user has the ability to search the journals by title, subject or publisher. The documents can be downloaded in full text in HTML and PDF formats.
Offsite - you must register to access the system CLAS with your institutional email address (i.e. n.secondname@hsantalucia.it). Within a matter of hours, the system sends the personal credentials to access the Catalog Bibliosan. The catalog consists of more than 5,000 prestigious scientific journals and biomedical databases. The user thus has the ability to see only the resources acquired from the Bibliosan System. Individual Santa Lucia resources may only be accessed on site.
Consultation of Publications not available at the Library
Scientific journals which are not directly available at the Library, can be requested via email. The service is not available for monographs. The Library staff is committed to find the publication requested as quickly as possible. If the publication is not available in the country, it is likely available by consulting with the interlibrary loan system “Docline”, which draws on about 3,400 US libraries and can deliver the publication via email. The retrieval of publications is free throughout the country and payment, if made, is through interlibrary loan.
Support for Library Users
The staff of the Library is available to inform and guide users in the correct handling of library resources, paper and electronic, in performing research through PubMed. It collects information on catalogs and bibliographic databases of libraries and documentation centers in the country. Additionally the staff organizes educational events and periodically informs on the proper use of catalogs, databases and online services.
